I have to say, I find these ads to be disingenuous if they’re actually from Lego or off-product if they’re student/spec ads. Legos aren’t about simple blocks to stir your creativity and imagination anymore. They’re about kits and models and product tie-ins. Try to find a Lego set at your local store that doesn’t feature some sort of licensed brand and that doesn’t come with an multi-page instruction manual.

Community spoofed on this last season, and it rings true. The Legos of our youth are not the Legos of the present.
