Tumbling Back Home

The bits of Internet goodness that get stuck in my teeth.

Full blog over here.

Today feels like an Elvis Costello kinda day, doesn’t it?

You can get Costello’s cover of “You Don’t Know What Love Is” on Marian McPartland’s Piano Jazz Radio Broadcast (with Elvis Costello) album, but I just found this version of him doing it with Chet Baker back in what looks to be the 80’s and it is fantastic.

By the way, if you haven’t checked out “Piano Jazz” on NPR, it really is a great show. Kind of a VH1 Storytellers, but with McPartland playing everything on piano. And jazzy. I remember driving back from somewhere, late at night, and Willie Nelson was on (ironically, it’s this week’s rebroadcast show). Willie and jazz and late night driving just went together perfectly.

By the way, if you haven’t checked out Johnny Cash & Willie Nelson’s VH1 Storytellers album, then your life has a little hole that needs to be filled. Descartes said so.
