But it was a WOMAN talking about MEN. That makes it not sexist. Or something.
Video: Dem lawmaker: Congress could pass health reform if men were ‘sent home’
Via The Hill’s Blog Briefing Room:
Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-N.H.) said that both Republican and Democratic women members of Congress understand how to care for relatives and thus want the healthcare system to change.
“We go to the ladies room and the Republican women and the Democratic women and we just roll our eyes,” she said. “And the Republican women said when we were fighting over the healthcare bill, if we sent the men home [we could get this done this weekend]” at which point she was interrupted by loud applause.
“You know why? I’m not trying to diss the men but I’m telling you it’s the truth that every single woman there has been responsible for taking care of [their mother, her husband’s mother, her children, her sister’s children, his brother’s children] and so we think we can find a common ground there,” she said.
Let’s play one of my favorite games: word switcheroo! Alright, let’s see what we get.
Random male Representative says (with a southern accent just to give it that extra kick):“We go to the men’s room and the Republican men and the Democratic men and we just roll our eyes,” he said. “And the Republican men said when we were fighting over the healthcare bill, if we sent the women home [we could get this done this weekend]” at which point he was interrupted by loud applause.

Men: mean, heartless, obstructionist, and never taking care of relatives. What beasts.
